A couple of years ago I found a fantastic cart at Home Goods for an amazing price. It was one of those pieces that I knew I had to buy, even though I didn’t quite know how I’d be using it. Once I got it home and wheeled it around to a few different spots, I decided to keep it next to my desk to house extras–paper, pens, notebooks, etc. Since my work space was in our bedroom, it was great to have a solution that wouldn’t over power the space, and make it feel like an office. When we moved to our current place, the amazing, perfect cart just didn’t work next to my desk anymore. But, I refused to let it go (remember, the price was a steal!). After a bit of mulling around, I realized I could use it in our bathroom, which has barely any storage space. Our former linen closet was not only used for towels and sheets, but also for my collection of hair and makeup products.
So now, the perfect little cart lives in our bathroom and I can roll it over to the sink whenever I’m doing my hair or makeup. So I figured I’d share a few great uses for a cart in any room of your home.
As a side table in your living room. What’s great about this, is that the cart can be fully multi-functional. No one will bat an eye at you having your favorite magazines on one shelf, and your favorite crystal decanter and glasses on another. Use as you would any other side table, to create spots for additional lighting and greenery.
Get-ready carts (what I now call my bathroom cart) are perfect to house bathroom essentials. Keep all of your favorite products right where you need them for easy access on early mornings. Using polished metal carts can also be an easy way to add a little glam to your bathroom space.
Let’s be honest, just organizing all of your office supplies can make you feel really productive. A gorgeous and simple setup the like one above can be done with minimal effort and cost.
Check out some great carts I’ve found recently, that I’ve been SO tempted to buy:
